Is there a way to recover the overwritten txt file?
Its happened to us all: deleting a file, folder or entire disk, then realizing that youve made a mistake. You reach for your backup and you dont have a backup. What now?
It is possible for recovering lost files even the trash has been emptied, but you must make sure that after file loss happened you did not put anything new into the path where your lost files were stored before.
Time Machine would only help you in the future. Is your Mac set up with Time Machine? If so you should be able to get the deleted files that way. Click the Time Machine icon in the dock. Then go back to before you deleted the files, they are probably still available.
If you dont have a Time Machine backup yet, then your best option would probably be follow solutions:
Now there are three solutions to recover Text files: repair a corrupt Text file or recover a deleted or lost text file.
The first way is using "Ctrl" + "Z": this is a simple shortcut key combination to undo an action which has been performed on Windows just now. This is the easiest and most convenient way to undo deletion.
The second way is to make use of "Restore" feature: just click on the recycle bin icon to enter. Then, select the files/folders you've deleted accidentally. Afterwards, right click on them and choose "Restore" option from pop-up menu.
The third way is dragging files directly out of recycle bin: enter the recycle bin as we suggested above. Then, select the correct file(s) and drag them out directly to desktop.
At last, to recover deleted or lost Text files, you can simply use Text recovery software to recover them.
Step 1. Launch the software to scan the device where your files deleted
Step 2: Preview the scan result files and make mark if it is the one you find
Step 3: Recover files
Please be careful two things:
1. your data hasnt been overwritten.
2. Some data recovery software just recover files, not folders. That is to say, you must be clear about your files, not folders. Because the folders may not be recovered, while files did it.
